General Information on Enrichment Classes --

Please read FIRST and CAREFULLY

 Updated March 2016

In order to ensure your satisfaction, please take time to understand the nature and intent of our program.

Connections Educational Resources seeks to provide a balance of flexibility and structure with our class offerings.

All science and language arts/English classes offer the parent and student a structured class with accompanying at-home assignments, using materials chosen by the tutor.  The tutor evaluates assignments and provides parents with feedback.  Specific grading is done at the high school level (see course descriptions).

Elective classes offer an enrichment of a subject.  The tutor may provide some helpful feedback in areas of class participation and interaction, but the tutor does not provide suggested grades.  These classes are usually more project- or activity- based.  Some may have accompanying homework, and some may be more self-contained.

All language arts and humanities courses will include essay writing.  The essay is the most basic, and most important, writing skill expected of students; and it truly “connects” with every subject at every grade level. All students at all grade levels will be taught the same MLA format and elements of essays*, including discussion of plagiarism and how to avoid it.  Workshops will be offered as needed for struggling students (and parents!).

*Science papers *may* use a slightly different format.

Class offerings, descriptions, and required texts, are subject to change and updated during the registration period.  A class name change does not necessarily reflect a change in the content of the class.

Texts and materials are chosen with cost and availability in mind; most can be ordered easily through Amazon or Christian Book Distributors.  Most required resources are hyperlinked throughout the website to Christian Book Distributors; purchasing via these links provides a small commission to Connections to use for supplies and equipment.

Please check the website frequently for updated information, class descriptions, registration, and more – including workshops, field trips, and other activities.  You can also "like" the Connections Facebook page for updates and information.

In order to secure a seat in the class, registration form and payment must be complete.

Tuition is due on the first class day.  Please ask for a payment plan if enrolling multiple students in multiples classes.
